Roadmap for Resilience: The California Surgeon General’s Report Webinar

California’s first Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris set a bold vision to cut ACEs and toxic stress in half in one generation through a strategically deployed, coordinated public health initiative designed to raise awareness, reduce transmission of ACEs and strengthen our response networks.
As part of this work, the Office of the California Surgeon General (CA-OSG) developed the Roadmap for Resilience: The California Surgeon General’s Report on Adverse Childhood Experiences, Toxic Stress, and Health, which lays out how to advance systemic reforms that recognize and respond to the effects of ACEs and toxic stress.

During the webinar, Dr. Burke Harris:
  • Shared key findings of the report that serves as a blueprint for primary, secondary and tertiary prevention to address ACEs and toxic stress in a systematic way.
  • Provided the most up-to-date science and highlight evidence based and promising practices at the national, state, county and community levels.
  • Offered critical insights for policymakers, scientists, healthcare providers, educators, and advocates to advance evidence-based solutions and approaches to better the health to act now to prevent and health childhood adversity.
